I’m thrilled to share an intimate glimpse into my artistic process. Are you one of my art collectors? This blog post is tailored just for you, as I believe understanding the journey behind the artwork you’ve collected enriches the connection between you and the piece itself.

This is not just about sharing a process; it’s about revealing the heart and mind behind every brushstroke. Join me in delving into the inspiration, techniques, and emotions that shape my works into living stories

As you admire the painting you’ve acquired, let me take you behind the scenes of its creation. First and foremost, please know that my process isn’t a strict formula but a dance of creativity and inspiration. Techniques can vary, and I often embrace the flow of intuition while I work.

When it comes to creating my artworks, the choice of canvas plays a pivotal role in bringing my creative vision to life. The canvas serves as the foundation upon which my artistic expression flourishes, and that’s why I meticulously choose the finest materials.

My preferred canvas measures 100 × 70 cm (39 × 27 inches), a size that strikes the perfect balance between storage convenience and ample creative space. Crafted with mixed media on 400 gram fine art paper from the renowned brand Hahnemühle, this canvas embodies excellence.

Hahnemühle’s paper is not just paper; it possesses the resilience of light cardboard. This robust, acid-free medium offers versatility for drawing, painting, collage, and screen printing. Made from wood-free cellulose, buffered, and lightfast, this exceptional canvas is tailor-made for artists working with diverse mediums.

What truly distinguishes this canvas is its texture—a refined surface that beautifully complements my initial sketches. It’s akin to cardboard in sturdiness, yet with a tactile quality that elevates the creative experience. This choice allows me to embark on my artistic journey with confidence, knowing that the canvas will hold my artistic intent flawlessly.

In essence, the canvas is an essential partner in the creation of each artwork, ensuring that the techniques I employ, the emotions I convey, and the stories I tell are preserved for eternity. Through the choice of this canvas, my works become more than just art; they become living narratives that capture the essence of creativity.

This thoughtful selection is a testament to my commitment to delivering artworks of unparalleled quality, where each stroke of color and each nuanced detail finds a harmonious home on the canvas that I have come to cherish.

I start with a soft graphite pencil when embarking on a new artwork. It’s as though the lines on the canvas guide my hand, helping me discover the perfect contours.  The magic truly begins when I introduce pressed graphite powder, layering delicately with a brush. This initial layering sets the foundation for shades that will evolve.

You might be surprised that some layers I add won’t even be visible in the final painting. Acrylic paint, for instance, often covers most of the initial sketch, a phenomenon that contributes to the depth and allure of the finished piece.

Water-soluble crayons hold a special place in my toolkit. Their versatility allows me to sketch and blur lines, creating a captivating painterly effect. Blending colors with a moist brush on the paper creates a magical transformation, adding dimension and texture. Finally, I will work with acrylic paint in multiple layers.

The process behind a masterpiece is just as enchanting as the end result. I encourage you to take joy in knowing that the artwork you own carries within it not only the final strokes but also a journey of creativity and self-expression.

When it comes to framing the original artwork on paper, my approach is rooted in elevating the visual experience while preserving the essence of the creation. I believe that the right frame enhances the impact of the artwork, making it a harmonious part of its surroundings.

For my original artworks on paper, I prefer a frame that complements the medium and the story it conveys. I opt for a double-glass framing technique, where the artwork is delicately held between two pieces of glass. This choice creates a captivating effect, allowing the artwork to appear as if it’s floating within its frame, surrounded by a translucent barrier that maintains a seamless connection with the environment.

The double-glass frame offers a unique viewing experience, allowing the viewer to appreciate not only the artwork but also the space it inhabits. It’s a balance of transparency and protection, where the delicacy of the paper and the intricacies of the creation are presented in a stunning interplay with the surroundings.

This framing choice reflects my commitment to presenting my artworks in a manner that respects their original form and intention. It ensures that each piece is a captivating presence that draws the viewer into its world, inviting a deeper connection between the observer, the artwork, and the space it graces.

When you choose to frame your original artwork on paper using the double-glass technique, you’re inviting a truly immersive experience. This framing approach allows you to appreciate not only the front but also the back of the artwork. The artwork appears to float within its frame, surrounded by glass on both sides. This unique presentation adds a layer of intimacy and personal connection, letting you engage with the artwork from every angle.

See this video on YouTube where I show this framing option.

Moreover, this framing method enables me to personalize your artwork further. On the back of the piece, I have the privilege to inscribe a poem, a quote, or other text that holds special meaning for you. This adds a personalized touch that resonates deeply with the essence of the artwork, making it a truly one-of-a-kind creation.

Furthermore, this intimate framing choice also allows you to view the Certificate of Authenticity on the back. The Certificate of Authenticity serves as a testament to the genuineness of the artwork and its origin, enhancing its value and collectibility.

In essence, the double-glass framing technique goes beyond the conventional approach. It provides a dynamic and multifaceted experience, offering a view of the artwork’s back, a personal message, and the Certificate of Authenticity. It’s an embodiment of the intricate connection between the artist, the artwork, and you as the collector.

Thank you for joining me on this artistic journey. Your appreciation for the creative process fuels my passion, and I hope that knowing the story behind your artwork enhances the joy it brings to your life.

Warmest regards,
