Help Wendy support these organisations

Wendy Buiter has dedicated her life to giving her talent as an artist to the world. Maybe you’ve read about or heard Wendy talk about her son and his genetic disorder.

As a single mother of two kids, of whom one with special needs, and being a fulltime artist, there is always a lot to work for.

Wendy supports organisations that actively research the possibilities for a cure for genetic disorders.

If you’re interested in joining her on her mission to fund research to help find a cure, donate to these organizations via the links below. Take action today!

What is GNAO1?

GNAO1 is a rare genetic disorder. GNAO1 (G Protein Subunit Alpha O1) is a Protein Coding gene. Mutations on this gene have a major effect on the physical and mental development of children. Some of the individuals with mutations on the GNAO1 gene suffer from a severe form of epilepsy at a young age, others have mild to severe movement disorders. All seem to have some form of developmental delay. Worldwide approximately 100, and in The Netherlands approximately 10 to 15, patients have been diagnosed with GNAO1.

Roughly 100 people around the world are know to be impacted by a GNAO1 – related neurodevelopmental disorder. Most of these patients have been diagnosed in the past year or two.

ProVeg supports everyone who is interested in changing their eating habits by providing practical information about how they can transition to animal-free alternatives. Furthermore, we connect existing organisations to enable the exchange of expertise and solution-oriented, high-impact practices.

ProVeg collaborates with governments, public institutions, and the food industry to improve the taste, ease, and accessibility of plant-based food. We appreciate every step that individuals, organisations, and institutions take towards a more plant-based lifestyle and a more sustainable society.

Milieudefensie (Friends of the Earth Netherlands)

Milieudefensie (Friends of the Earth Netherlands) works towards a fair and sustainable world. We bring people together to urge governments and companies to make better choices. Together we can make it happen.

Imagine a less wasteful world, a world in which we share the earth’s riches equally with one another, and with future generations. A world that doesn’t exhaust its natural resources.
