EQUESTRIANS

The Equestrians Series

We are thrilled to introduce the latest series of paintings, “Equestrians.” These two artworks were inspired by Wendy’s admiration for the beauty and courage of horses, as well as the equestrian culture. The first painting, titled “Equine,” features a detailed and striking portrait of a horse’s head, while the second piece, “Cavalleria Toscana,” showcases a woman character resembling an equestrian.

With bold color palettes and intricate details in each painting’s focal point, Wendy’s “Equestrians” series captures the horse-human bond in all its beauty and majesty. I highly recommend these artworks for any lover of equestrian culture or those seeking to connect with something greater through art.

Wendy recently started taking horseback riding lessons and found the connection to these animals quite beautiful. She felt she could envision what it would be like for her daughter, Avélie, to experience a once-in-a-lifetime majestic adventure with her beloved horses. After learning some basics of communicating and controlling the horse, Wendy decided this was exactly what she needed to bring forth in her series.

The artworks were made with a mixture of water-soluble crayons and acrylic paint. Each piece was carefully detailed to capture the essence of this equestrian world, along with its beauty and grandeur. Through each work, one can feel Wendy’s passion for horses come alive through color and texture. Additionally, these works showcase her expert use of light to bring out the full range of tones from deep browns to bright pinks. She has truly captured the power that is present in both horse and rider alike in her paintings – a reminder of their undeniable bond.
