Dear friends and art enthusiasts,

I am thrilled to share with you my masterpiece, “Starry Night,” painted in 2018, which was inspired by the iconic painting by Vincent van Gogh.

As an artist, I am constantly seeking ways to connect with the world around me and translate those connections into my art. “Starry Night” holds a special place in my heart, as it allowed me to blend my admiration for van Gogh’s brilliance with my own unique creative vision.

In the original painting, we witness a sky that is alive with movement and energy – a swirling dance of stars and cosmic hues. My intention was not to replicate van Gogh’s masterpiece but to imbue it with my own touch. To achieve this, I introduced a central figure, my signature muse, who stands with her eyes closed, seemingly lost in thought beneath the dynamic night sky.

The challenge in this piece was to balance the dynamic movement of the sky with a sense of serenity and contemplation in the muse’s form. I wanted to evoke a sense of wonder and awe in the viewer while also conveying a deep sense of peace and tranquility.

I believe “Starry Night” encapsulates these contrasting emotions and elements flawlessly, resulting in a visually captivating and emotionally resonant artwork. To give you insight into my creative process, let me share a glimpse of how this piece came to life.

For “Starry Night,” I employed my signature mixed media technique that characterizes my other works. The process began with a sketch of the dynamic sky and the muse herself, brought to life using a soft graphite pencil on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. To enhance the sketch, I used water and pressed graphite, adding depth to the piece before introducing layers of water-soluble Caran d’Arche crayons for color and texture. As the painting evolved, acrylic paint was used to enhance details and add depth to both the sky and the muse’s features.

One particular detail I enjoyed bringing to life was the muse’s soft and fluffy eyelashes. This subtle element adds an extra layer of femininity and tenderness, beautifully contrasting with the sky’s dynamic energy.

“Starry Night” represents my personal interpretation of one of the most renowned artworks in history. It is a blend of admiration for a master and the creativity that flows within me. I hope that you’ll appreciate the effort and creativity poured into its creation.

If “Starry Night” has captured your imagination, I invite you to explore it further. You can find both the original masterpiece and a hand-painted, limited edition canvas on my website: Masterpiece “Starry Night” and Hand-Painted Limited Edition Canvas.

Thank you for being a part of this artistic journey with me. Your support and appreciation mean the world to me.
