ATELIER CANVASES 2026
An Atelier Canvas is a carefully -into edition- translated work, finished by hand to restore depth, nuance and presence. Each piece carries the original composition — yet no two canvases are identical, resulting in subtle variations in texture, tone, and detail. These canvases exist in the space between a Masterpiece and a Limited Edition, offering a painterly interpretation of the original image.
Curated selection
Each work is offered in a restrained range of formats, chosen to preserve balance, proportion, and presence within an interior. This curatorial restraint is deliberate and central to the series. You may request any work from the full collection to be translated into a canvas — in a size that suits your space, your interior, your way of living with art.

The first edition
When a work has not yet been translated into canvas, the first collector initiates its release. This requires a one-time atelier investment — a process in which the original work is carefully digitised and prepared for its first canvas interpretation. This moment defines the work’s continuation. Subsequent editions will follow, but the origin always belongs to the first.

A considered entry
For many collectors, an Atelier Canvas marks the beginning of a deeper relationship with the work. It offers proximity to the original — while remaining distinct from it. A deliberate step into a world where art is not chosen lightly, but lived with.

Limited Editions and Private Digitalisation
Within the Wendy Buiter collection, a carefully curated selection of artworks is digitised in advance and released as limited edition canvases. These form the core of the available edition portfolio.
Beyond this curated release, collectors are offered private access to an extended archive of more than 600 original works.
When a collector selects an artwork that has not yet been digitized, the digitization is commissioned exclusively for that collector. The collector receives Edition Number 1, marking the origin point of the edition.
Professional digitization is a museum level process involving high resolution art scanning, advanced colour calibration, and archival preparation. For this reason, a one time digitalization contribution of €350 applies.
From an investment perspective, this moment is significant. There is no guarantee that the artwork will be released again as an edition. The first collector effectively activates the edition and secures the most historically relevant number within the series.
Owning Edition Number 1 is widely regarded as the most desirable position within a limited series. It represents provenance, precedence, and narrative value within the lifecycle of the work.
For discerning collectors, this is not simply an acquisition. It is participation in the beginning of an edition’s legacy.
