Some artworks begin with a spark, a memory, a detail, a glimpse of something unforgettable. Fabergé Brooch was born from one such spark.

Years ago, I visited a breathtaking exhibition at the Hermitage Amsterdam, dedicated to the treasures of the Russian Tsarinas. The gowns, the jewels, the sheer opulence, it was a world apart. I took it all in slowly, carefully. Among the many pieces, one brooch captivated me. A Fabergé design, rich in detail and story.

I remember taking a photo of it behind the glass, its gemstones catching the light, its form delicate yet powerful. I didn’t know then that it would find its way into my work — but some beauty demands a second life.

From Imperial ornament to modern icon

Back in my studio, I found myself returning to that image. Not to replicate it, but to reimagine it. I didn’t want to paint a Tsarina. I wanted to honor the brooch by placing it into a contemporary narrative, one of elegance, presence, and modern femininity. So the brooch became a part of one of my muses. Not a historical figure, but a woman of today. One who carries power not through title, but through poise and individuality.

That’s what Fabergé Brooch became: a dialogue between eras, where royal craftsmanship meets modern art.

This work exists as a single original painting. A one-of-a-kind masterpiece for collectors who appreciate symbolic detail, beauty with depth, and the kind of art that tells stories beyond the surface.

Where the past meets the present, and stays

Fabergé Brooch is more than a painting. It’s a memory, reimagined. A museum moment, made personal. And a jewel, once locked behind glass, now part of a living portrait.
